Music and Cognition design, implement and examine projects that tackle an identified need, through a process that establishes collaborative relationships between researchers, teachers, practitioners, children and the wider school community.
Our objectives are:
- To develop our understanding of how learning through music and the arts can support other key areas of children’s development. Specifically in relation to cognition, language and social emotional skills.
- To successfully bring together teachers, researchers, practitioners and children during the research process.
- To unite theory with real-world activity.
- To support the provision of music and arts training, particularly with children who would not otherwise receive the opportunity.
